Jumped awkwardly. Raced wide without cover from the 800m. J. Lloyd reported that the horse was ridden back in the field as instructed and overraced in the early stages. He was of the opinion that the pace of the race did not suit the horse as when the race developed into a sprint home the gelding was left flat-footed and could not make up ground. He indicated that connections suggested that they may consider sending the horse for a spell.
