Trainer S. Lawlor was questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance of the horse today as compared to its last start at Murwillumbah on 16 December. Miss Lawlor explained that DAVE’S VALOUR was not suited when it was unable to lead in that race and does not race well when racing inside of horses in the home straight. She added that the filly had always raced well when able to lead and dictate the tempo of the race. A post race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the off foreleg and a laceration to the near fore fetlock and off fore pastern. Miss Lawlor indicated that
