Connections advised that if the horse began well and there was no pace in the race, the intention would be to go forward. The horse was ridden accordingly. After passing the 1200m, when racing outside the leader, commenced to overrace and proved difficult to restrain. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the horse had sustained lacerations to the lower off hind leg consistent with being galloped on.
