Raced wide throughout without cover. When questioned regarding the horse’s disappointing performance, apprentice L. Tilley stated that it was his intention to lead or race in a forward position, however the gelding failed to show the necessary speed to take up a forward position. He added that from the 600m the gelding commenced to lose ground and was disappointing. He further indicated to stewards that the gelding may not be suited to the tight turning track. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
