Slow to begin. Questioned re tactics and overall performance. After beginning slowly forced to ride along in early stages to obtain customary forward position. Once obtained the lead, gelding was travelling comfortably, so content to allow to stride along. Conceded error in not restraining in middle stages once it obtined to lead but still disappointed in how it compounded over final 400m. Post race vet revealed abnormal respiratory sound. Endoscopic exam failed to reveal any abnormalities
