Raced wide early stages. Questioned re: performance - rider stated obliged to ride gelding foward to settle outside leader when caught wide in the early stages. Nonethelss, was very dissapointed in performance as under pressure leaving 600m. Of the view gelding may not have handled short 8 day back from recent start. Trainer advised would have blood tests conducted and report results. Post race vet exam revealed slow post race recovery.
