When questioned as to the tactics adopted when electing to press forward of BARAMBAH BELLE and lead instead of remaining in a position outside of BARAMBAH BELLE, Jockey C Dell stated that the gelding had previously suffered from respiratory issues and as a consequence did not perform well when being restrained and for this reason he allowed it to stride forward to the lead. His explanation was noted. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities at the time of examination.
