Added in consultation with trainer was agreed gelding performs best when able to improve to outside of field and when tempo slowed leaving 800m he elected to shift 3 wide to improve. Stewards confirmed instructions with trainer and noted explanation.

Rider questioned re disappointing performance - intention to obtain forward position however, after beginning on terms with the field failed to muster necessary speed. Concerned would be caught wide early stages so elected to restrain to obtain position with cover. Added despite travelling well in that position failed to respond and proved disappointing. Endoscope to be undertaken.
