Near the 400m shifted out to improve and bumped BASIC STRATEGY. Questioned re performance Jockey stated travelled well until home turn where failed to respond and was most disappointing. Unable to offer any explanation. Trainer stated horse was only second up today and would take a fitness benefit from today's run. Also noted horse performs better over further distances.
