When questioned as to the performance, Jockey D Griffin stated that he was able to cross the runners drawn to his inside and take up a prominent position in the early stages without applying too much pressure after which the mare travelled comfortably in the middle stages. However, when placed under pressure rounding the home turn the mare failed to respond to his riding and was most disappointing today. Jockey Griffin was of the opinion that the mare may have come to the end of its preparation. Trainer A Willick confirmed that the mare would be sent for an immediate spell.

Trainer T Edmonds was unable to offer any explanation and undertook to report to stewards any abnormalities that may come to light in the days subsequent to the race.
