Slow to begin. Questioned re tactics after improving around field leaving 1300m - rounding turn near 1400m SIR ROTHEWAY did not appear to be travelling well so elected to shift wider to improve position. Intention was to then shift back in to obtain trailing position behind MR MALU down back straight however, SIR EARLSTOUN improved to his inside which left him 3 wide near 900m. So allowed mare to stride forward to settle outside MR MALU near 700m. Stewards advised erred in failing to obtain position behind SIR EARLSTOUN after improving around SIR ROTHEWAY.
