Commenced to overrace for a short distance approaching 1500m and shifted out forcing EMPEROR’S BEACH wider. Trainer questioned re improved performance - stated that as a result of track downgrade today to Soft 7 was not overly comfortable of a forward showing as it had previously failed on a similar track last start however, attributed improved performance to step up to 1800m. Explanation noted.
