Bumped shortly after start became unbalanced. Rider questioned re performance - stated after being bumped at start and with strong early tempo content to settle in midfield position with cover.Added passing 500m attempted to improve between THE MONK and THE LYNCHES but steadied when placed in restricted room. Following this gelding failed to respond as expected and in his opinion proved disappointing. Trainer stated his pre-race intention gelding would settle closer to speed however still disappointed in failure to finish race as expected. Indicated may step up in distance next start.
