Rider questioned re tactics rounding home turn when ONE GOLDEN DAY, which was racing to his inside was able to shift out forward him to secure clear running. He stated that when tempo increased passing 500m he attempted to improve with ONE GOLDEN DAY but was unable to do so, which allowed that runner to shift out forward of him. Stewards advised rider had erred leaving 500m by not placing enough pressure in an attempt to prevent ONE GOLDEN DAY shifting out.

Raced wide early before obtaining cover leaving 700m. Rider questioned re tactics - stated given no specific instructions however, was hoping to obtain a handy position with cover. Added after beginning on terms with runners drawn to inside concerned that if he elected to push forward he would be caught wide and thus restrained in an attempt to secure clear running, resulting in him racing further back than originally anticipated.

Rider questioned re performance - stated after beginning well obliged to pressure throughout to hold position. Added passing 800m unable to improve, despite efforts. Added mare was under pressure leaving 500m and in his opinion proved disappointing and better suited over further distances. Trainer stated mare races in similar fashion and was not disappointed with finishing effort and would step up in distance. Vetted - no abs swab sample taken.
