Rider questioned re tactics - explained mare resuming after a lengthy spell and had trialled before resuming today. Early stages some difficulty maintaining position over shorter distance and in middle stages inclined to drop the bit, requiring him to niggle it along. When asked re riding approaching and rounding home turn stated with small field a run and would save ground rather than going widest. On straightening confident run would present but when it didn't no option but to shift out wide placing it under pressure closing off race nicely.
