Jockey G Colless reported that the gelding raced flat throughout and was disappointing in its inability to finish the race off as expected. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding stable representative Mr D Moore expressed disappointment with the performance of the gelding today and in his opinion may have come to the end of its preparation. He further added that in light of this he would send the gelding for a short let-up.
