Rider questioned re tactics - stated instructed to settle where comfortable. As a consequence after beginning well eased out of early speed. Leaving 900m obliged to ease again when placed in restricted room to inside of DANCING ON PARADE, resulting in racing a length further back than anticipated. Tempo then dropped resulting in racing strongly at heels of DANCING ON PARADE during middle stages before being left flatfooted when tempo increased leaving 500m. Noted finished races off fairly and may be better suited on firmer track over further distance.
