Steward Comment

Stewards questioned Trainer J Wallace as to the improved performance from its last start. Mr Wallace noted the filly was only having its second start for the stable and at its first start at Murwillumbah on 3 June 2018, had begun awkwardly and lost significant ground at the start. Mr Wallace noted that following that performance he added blinkers, tongue-tie, ear- muffs and barrier blanket to the fillys gear and combined with a good performance in a recent trial he was confident of a forward showing today.

Steward Comment

Leaving the 900m commenced to over-race. Approaching the 800m shifted out and bumped GOING TO VEGAS after which DIVINE ACTION clipped the heels of PORTUGUESE TART, blundered badly and lost significant ground. App. B Nothdurft (IVYS DREAM) was reprimanded for the rate at which he slackened the speed after obtaining the lead. In determining penalty, Stewards were of the opinion that the racing manners of DIVINE ACTION contributed to the interference it suffered. Hung in under pressure in the home straight. Trainer B Gorman reported that the mare sustained lacerations to the off-side fetlock.

Slow to begin. Approaching the 800m had to be checked from the heels of DIVINE ACTION after that horse blundered and then shifted out and bumped ETHANOL GIRL. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
