When questioned regarding the improved performance, stable representative advised that the gelding was first up today after winning a recent jump- out at Caloundra. She also added that the improved performance could be attributed to the addition of blinkers on for the first time.

A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities. Trainer G Taylor was advised that a warning will be placed on the geldings racing manners.

Jockey L Rolls reported at scale that his mount did not feel comfortable in its action and therefore he was reluctant to place the gelding under pressure as he had concerns that it may have suffered an injury. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near hind leg. Trainer J Smerdon was advised that he must obtain a veterinary certificate of fitness before the geldings next race start.
