Began awkwardly. After passing the 1000m, laid in and away from SUZI BEL and in doing so made contact with the hindquarters of DECODER and lost some ground. When asked to comment on the performance, Jockey D Griffin explained that the gelding travelled comfortably in the early stages and when the speed slackened in the middle stages the gelding was left flat-footed in the sprint home over the final 400m. He further added that he was not disappointed with the performance but felt the tempo of the race may not have entirely suited the gelding today.
