Near the 900m steadied and lost ground when placed in restricted room between Grim Reaper and Sir Husson, which shifted in. Rider reported at scale was not her intention to settle as far back as she did however, due to the runners drawn to her inside showing superior speed in the early stages obliged to restrain and obtain a position towards the rear of the field.

RIder questioned re tactics - stated instructions were to lead and when complying with these instructions at a point near the 900m when racing to the outside of Takotsubo he elected to obtain the outright lead and improve forward. At this point the gelding commenced to overrace, which resulted in him leading by a greater margin than intended. Stewards noted explanation.
