As start was effected momentarily stood flatfooted and lost ground. Held up approaching home turn. Rider comment re performance - stated after being slowly away settled further back in the field than anticipated and when asked for an effort on straightening the gelding did not respond as expected under its weight allocation of 58 ½ kilos. Vetted - no apparent abnormalities and swab sample taken.
