Slow to begin. Near the 500m and approaching the home turn was held up and was unable to improve when awkwardly placed at heels. Rider stated the mare was very cantankerous in the barrier, was slow away and did not muster any speed, got into an awkward spot in running and disappointed when it did not want to finish the race off. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
