Approaching the 800m, was checked when crowded and tightened to the inside of other runners. Approaching the 700m, was eased and hung outwards, becoming awkwardly placed on heels.

Shortly after the start was taken out by another runner. Tightened for room between runners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have been galloped on its near hind with an abrasion on its inside cannon and laceration on the outside of the fetlock.
