When questioned regarding the tactics adopted today, jockey M. Hellyer advised that his instructions were to be positive out of the barriers and attempt to obtain a forward position. Trainer Mr P. Duff confirmed the instructions, however added that as the stallion had not raced for over a month and was on the fresh side it commenced to overrace and showed more speed than he had anticipated.
