Became fractious in the barriers and reared on a number of occasions prior to the start being effected. Raced 3 wide without cover throughout. When questioned regarding the poor performance, Trainer Mr. B. Currie advised that he was of the view that the gelding did not handle the heavy track of today’s event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant abnormalities other than that the gelding was exhibiting a slightly slower post-race recovery.
