When asked to comment on the performance, jockey J. Lloyd explained that Trainer Mr. B. Currie had expected the filly to perform quite well if it raced up to its recent jump outs which have been quite good. He added that he was of the view that the filly has a lot of speed and, in his opinion, would possibly lead the field if it handled the track. Jockey Lloyd advised that his mount floundered in the going in the first few hundred metres, and did not handle the heavy track of today’s event. Stewards noted the explanation.
