Stewards questioned Trainer S. Morrisey regarding the filly’s performance. Mr. Morrisey expressed his opinion that the performance today was very disappointing and he could offer no explanation for the performance, given that the filly was in a nice trailing position in the event, other than that the filly may struggle to run out a strong 1600m. He added that he will freshen the filly up, and drop it back in distance for its next start. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.

Caught wide in the early stages before being ridden forward to obtain a position outside the leader near the 1100m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be exhibiting an abnormal respiratory noise. Trainer K. Stabe was advised that the gelding will require a veterinary clearance, including the results of an endoscopic examination, prior to racing again.
