Steward Comment

Forced wider on the track approaching the 700m. Obliged to steady from the heels of PRINCE OF TIE approaching the 600m when that runner shifted back down the track, and as a result shifted in marginally and tightened the room of CLAIRVUE. Apprentice H. English dropped her whip at the 200m.

Steward Comment

Hung out after the start and continued to shift wider on the course despite the efforts of its rider, causing interference to other runners. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings. After considering the racing characteristics of PRINCE OF TIE, stewards advised trainer K. Schweida that the gelding will need to requalify at a distance greater than 800m to the stewards’ satisfaction. Mr Schweida indicated that he would experiment with some gear in order to improve the racing manners of PRINCE OF TIE.
