After being caught 3 wide in the early stages, jockey R. Maloney attempted to obtain cover behind TOO GOOD TO RESIST after passing the 800m, however he was unable to do so, and had to restrain his mount in an attempt to find a position closer to the rail. From the 600m, jockey Maloney was unable to obtain cover and his mount raced 3 wide from that point. When placed under pressure in the early stages of the home straight the horse failed to respond, however over the final 100m hit the line strongly and may benefit from this run.

Commenced to overrace after passing the 800m, and then hung out and made the home turn extremely wide. A post-race veterinary examination of the colt revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer K. Geran was advised that the colt will be required to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to its next race start.
