When questioned regarding the horse’s performance, M. Du Plessis indicated that the gelding travelled well in a handy position for the majority of the event, however when placed under pressure in the home straight failed to respond. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in both hind legs. Trainer S. O’Dea was advised that the gelding will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
