Raced three wide throughout. Stewards questioned M. Crawford regarding the tactics he adopted. He stated that his instructions were to have the gelding race on the speed, which was its usual pattern. He added the trainer indicated that if he was to be caught three wide he would be satisfied with that position, noting that whilst positioned three wide, the horse had overraced. Stewards were of the view that jockey Crawford may have erred in his tactics by continuing to sit three wide outside BAREFOOT TYCOON. Stewards were also of the view that near the 800m there was an opportunity to ease and

Examined behind the barriers by the veterinary surgeon, who reported that the gelding had blood in its mouth as a result of dislodging a tooth, and was passed fit to race. After being caught three wide in the early stages, the rider elected to ease and take cover near the 900m.
