After racing in a rearward position for the majority of the event, commenced to yield ground passing the 600m when placed under pressure and was retired from the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a nasal discharge and to be displaying signs of having a respiratory infection. Trainer’s representative Mr R. Tyrell advised stewards that the gelding would undergo an endoscopic examination in coming days, the results of which would be forwarded to stewards. Mr Tyrrell was advised that SICARIO will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
