Commenced to overrace whilst in the leading position passing the 1400m, and proved difficult to restrain. Commenced to hang out passing the 1200m, and continued to do so for the remainder. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer S. Chirnside was advised the gelding must trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again.
