Began awkwardly and shifted out, in doing so hampered JOHN BOOKE. Laid out rounding the home turn. After passing the 200m, laid in when placed under pressure, resulting in Jockey J. Byrne having to stop riding and straighten his mount on several occasions. Performed below market expectation. Jockey J. Byrne stated that the gelding raced keenly throughout and when placed under pressure failed to respond. A post-race veterinary examination of VIBRANT CITY failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.
