A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding revealed no abnormalities. Apprentice K Wilson-Taylor pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 131(b) in that he failed to ride the gelding, which finished in 6th position beaten a short half head for fifth, out to the end of the race and was fine $300.

Shortly after the start shifted in and had to be steadied from the heels of KID MAC. Eased down over the concluding stages as rider N Tomizowa was of the opinion TEMUJIN LASS may have sustained an injury. A post-race veterinary examination of the mare revealed no abnormalities. Trainer K Kemp advised he would report any condition which may come to light in the coming days to explain the performance.
