When asked about tactics adopted early, particularly in settling more forward than expected, Rdr advised instructed to be handy if possible, however after being ridden forward in an effort to comply with these instructions, was caught wide without cover after runners drawn inside, pressed forward, and therefore allowed gelding to roll forward and lead from the 800m.
