In the float en route to the course sustained a minor laceration to the off foreleg, was examined by the Club's veterinary surgeon and cleared to take its place in the field. Bumped at the start. Jockey reported that his mount never travelled comfortably, was inclined to lay out throughout the event and felt awkward in its action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding stiff in both hind legs and was displaying a poor recovery rate.
