Began awkwardly and was slow into stride. Had difficulty obtaining clear running from the 250 metres until the 100 metres. On returning to the enclosure it was noted that the mare had bled from both nostrils. Trainer was advised that, as this was the first occasion on which FLIGHT ACADEMY had bled, it will be barred from racing for 3 months under A.R. 53A and then only after a satisfactory gallop of at least 1000 metres in the presence of a steward will it be permitted to race again.

Shortly after the start bumped with another runner, which became awkward. When questioned regarding the performance, Jockey said that his mount began fairly, however from the 700 metres commenced to lose ground and failed to respond to his riding. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Stewards will follow up in the coming days.
