Stewards inquired into the tactics adopted by Jockey N. Day in the early stages. He explained that he had been instructed to take up a forward position if the race lacked pace. He said that it was his intention to go forward in the early stages, and when in a four wide position near the 800 metres he was able to obtain the lead easily. Trainer Z. Hohn confirmed the instructions given and said that in the past the horse has performed best when ridden forward. She was satisfied with the ride and will issue the same instructions in future, however would drop the horse back in distance. She added
