Obliged to steady away from heels near the 1800m. Jockey then elected to push forward to take up a position in the lead near the 1500m. When questioned regarding the reason for him shifting off the fence when leading from the 600m, , Jockey explained it was his intention to shift wider approaching and rounding the home turn as it was his view that when the rail was in the true position racing towards the middle of the track is more advantageous. Stewards noted the explanation.
