Jockey G. Colless was asked to comment on the performance of the horse. He indicated the gelding proved very disappointing, and after settling in a position just behind the lead, shifted out near the 400m in an attempt to secure clear running, however shortly after his mount commenced to weaken and he was unable to afford stewards any further explanation for the performance.Mr Schweida indicated that the horse would now be sent for a spell after a small amount of mucus was present in the horses nostil on Sunday night following this event.

A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be shin sore and was lame in the off foreleg. Trainer M. Mair was advised that he must provide a veterinary clearance for the horse and it must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.
