When asked to comment on the performance, jockey M. Cahill reported that he had been instructed to make a run wider on the track around horses if possible, which he attempted to fulfil after passing the 600m. He indicated that the horse did not travel comfortably throughout the race, did not respond to his riding rounding the home turn and felt that that the horse was disappointing. Trainer C. Anderson was somewhat disappointed with the performance and would consider the horse’s current preparation and report back to stewards in the coming days.

A post race veterinary examination of the horse which finished a distant last, failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer D. Kelly advised stewards he would be sending the horse for a spell. Stewards ordered that the gelding must officially trial to the stewards’ satisfaction prior to its next race start.
