Pengelly regarding the tactics adopted as to why he remained in a 3 wide position, when It appeared he had opportunity to improve forward and take up a position closer to the fence, however he elected to restrain and remain in a 3 wide position. He explained that near the 1200m he improved outside LITTLE MISS MONACO and at this point the rider of that mare appeared to allow his mount to stride more forward. He was of the view that the rider would allow the horse to cross the horse to the inside and take up the lead, which would enable MAJOR

Connections advised the horse would be ridden more foward if circumstances permit. The horse was ridden accordngly. The start was delayed when the horse broke through the barriers, however was quickly restrained, examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.
