Stewards questioned R. Goltz regarding his riding from the 400m until approaching the 250m. Stewards raised concerns that he appeared to display a lack of vigour given that COLOUR CHARGE, which won the race, had led and had set only a slow tempo in the early and middle stages. R. Goltz explained that trainer David Vandyke had instructed him similarly to previous starts in that he is of the opinion that the horse does not finish its races off when finding the lead too early in the home straight.
