J. Hoopert was questioned regarding his tactics. He indicated that he had been instructed to stride forward and he had been instructed to avoid overly restraining the horse. He indicated that he therefore attempted to hold the fence from the 1200m, however did steady his mount approaching the 800m. Stewards noted the explanation.

Stewards questioned B. Panya regarding the tactics adopted and the performance of the horse. She indicated that after riding the horse forward, as is the horse’s racing pattern, she initially intended settling to the outside of DANDOG, however when her mount raced keenly she elected to allow the horse to stride passing the 1000m in an attempt to cross that horse, however DANDOG continued to hold its position to the inside, and whilst her mount did settle somewhat when approaching the 600m, the gelding was immediately under pressure passing the 400m and was disappointing in the run to the line.
