When questioned, jockey R. Plumb stated he was advised by the trainer that the horse had a history of being fractious in the gates and his instructions were to position the horse where it felt comfortable in the early stages. He added that after being crossed shortly after the start the filly raced a little greenly back in the field however finished the race off reasonably well and, in his opinion, would benefit from today’s experience and may be better suited over longer distances than that of today’s event.
