After leading for the majority of the event, compounded in the home straight and finished a distant last. When questioned regarding the performance, trainer B. Snelling stated the gelding has only had a couple of runs back from a long lay off. He added he has brought the horse along slowly in its current campaign on advice of his veterinary surgeon and now planned to step the horse up to races of a longer distance than that of today’s event. Stewards noted his comments.
