Correct weight was delayed to allow stewards to view the patrol video to ascertain if the horse, which reared as the start was effected, losing several lengths, was afforded a fair start. The mare was subsequently declared a runner. Trainer D. Vandyke reported that the horse had pulled up distressed. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse was suffering from heat stroke.
