The veterinary surgeon reported that the mare had a nasal discharge post-race. Trainer M. Renehan was advised that he will be required to produce a veterinary clearance and the results of an endoscopic examination for the horse prior to it racing again. Mr Renehan indicated that the horse would now be sent for a spell.

B. Pengelly reported that the gelding travelled well throughout and when he applied pressure from the 600m the horse failed to respond and proved disappointing. Trainer C. Anderson stated that he did not think the track conditions suited the horse and he would continue with its current preparation and would advise stewards should anything come to light in coming days which may have had an effect on the performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
